It has been a week since my return to Kinmen. I have habituated another regular life gradually--monitor various kinds of logs on the screen and make sure everyone uses military network in order, stay up at night for night patrol, run around in the tunnels and check up officers' computers--busy, dull but endurable.

Outsiders easily relate Kinmen with wars and may think that we always live up with tension. We do have more sensitive missions than other places but most of them are part of regular routine in annual schedule. We still have vacation and entertainment. PS2 is not only a civilian's toy but ours, too. And we also celebrate Lunar Year!

New Lunar Year this year will last nine days, the longest one ever. People here are thinking about their vacation rather than paying attension on their current jobs. Officers are losing their patient dealing piles of paper and eager to go out. We, the officer's minions, are also taking benefit from bosses' early leaving--taking nap, watching TV, listening music and surfing net--just like what I am doing now. Although these activities seems common for little people, they are our brief escape from daily life--not perfect but good enough.

Happy New Lunar Year, everyone!
